Want to start your own business? Just do it, Ladies!

I was recently talking to a couple of friends who are thinking about starting their own businesses. Conversations like those get me so excited because I feel so confident that when women put their minds to something, only great things can come their way.

I started my business not too long ago and I will say without a doubt that it took a big leap of faith and courage to declare my pursuit. There were so many questions that I had... so many things I was (and still am!) unsure about. It can be daunting and intimidating when doing research on other established folks in the field you want to break in to. It is these simple things that can often causes you to stop and not take that next step. "What if I fail?"... "What if no one wants what I have to offer?"... so many questions like these can be so scary to face.

Since moving to Minneapolis, I've been so lucky to meet and get to know some amazing women who are business owners, many of whom are also moms. These women (you know who you are!) have been such inspirations for me and I am so grateful for that inspiration and support. It's funny how sometimes other people can see your potential before you are able to. Don't ignore that. Believe in yourself!

I hope that if you're reading this and you have a business idea in mind that you will give yourself the opportunity to explore the possibilities of bringing your vision to life. If you ever question whether you will succeed, just remember that you will never know until you take that first step...

I am so excited to announce that my website is now live! It has been an amazing project and huge learning experience to get this business off the ground. I have loved every minute of it. I had such fun with the Gifford family this past weekend photographing their brand new twin boys (just about 2 weeks at the time of the photographs!). Ian and Andrew are just precious and I think Isla is going to have a blast with her two little brothers. Congratulations Mary and Devon! These little guys are lucky to have you as their parents.
